does anyone knows the funtion of this part on the bump stop ??

i want to cut is of for more freedom when i drive over road bumps.

Bump stops keep the shock/strut from bottoming out at the end of the stroke, taking it outor modification of it may wear out you shock/strut faster and may cause a failure if a big bump is hit, I do not reccommend it.

i kwow the function of the bump stops, bud it's more the big ring on top of it. i only need a few mm more room for a nice ride over bad roads. i toucht that the big ring had a special funtion like distance ring or somthing. i only want to cut the ring of, with a few mm more of the first bump rubber.
