I posted this a while back, but didn't get many answers so I'll try again:

Am parking an E on the mean streets of NYC. Does anyone know of any sort of bumper guard(s) that can be installed front and rear that offer some protection from these idiots :x who parallel park by slamming the car in front of them and then the one behind? Thanks for the help.

A trailer hitch on the rear might help some. At least it would inflict more damage on the idiot's car.
Try a fake secirtiy camera w/ flashing red light in back window.....put a sign in window whn u park----"Hit my car? Smile your'e on camera":rolleyes:
I saw something like this in the parking lot at the mall. Except, the one I saw had a dagger/spike instead of a hook.

(If its not obvious, this plugs into your trailer hitch receiver)

I know some idiot will run over that thing and spear their car right onto my E. I shiver at the thought....:-o
have you looked into getting a bumper bully? I have seen cars with those and ones that looks like bumpy rectangles that appear to be stick ons. IMO any bumper protector looks extremely ugly and stupid though.

Yes, Bumper Bullys are fairly popular in NYC but I suppose they can be stolen and they don't quite cover the whole bumper (and they have nothing for the front bumper, just the rear) so it's far from a perfect solution but thanks for the reply.

All car manufacturers should offer thick rubber bumpers as an "urban" option. I swear there are parallel parkers in NYC who don't even look, they just back up until they hit the car behind them and repeat to the car in front. :x
