Bypass immobilizer using PHK34 without remote start

Hi,

I have a Ridgeline all-in-one key that's been cut and programmed to my door locks, but isn't compatible with my 06 Elements immobilizer system. I'd like to bypass the immobilizer all together, and was wondering if anyone has actual experience installing the PHK34 bypass... I do have some experience working with electronics, but wanted to make sure this unit can be wired to work as a stand alone (without a remote start system)... Any help is appreciated. Info on wiring would be a bonus... Thanks.

Save yourself some money and forget the bypass unit. You can take one of your keys and cut the head off the key and tape it to the side of the ignition switch behind the dash. Alot of installers used to do this to take the easy way out when Honda first came out with the immobilzer system. The chip in the key just needs to be close to the unit on the ignition switch for the vehicle to run. The chip doesn't have to be in the key that you are starting the vehicle with.
