Check out my E crash photos

This is (was) my 2007 2WD EX. I was hit by a guy who drifted over into my lane on the interstate. I went off the side of the road and flipped probably a couple times and hit a guard rail. Don't remember much of it but amazingly only ended up with a broken ankle and some facial lacerations. The car definitely saved my life. Just bought a 2011 4WD to replace it!

im gonna go out on a limb here and guess the insurance company totaled that E?

Thats pretty F"ing crazy you "walked away" from that. Ive seen much less end up far worse for the occupants.

A bit of advice, dont rush that ankle. Take it from someone that did. Let it heal.
That is incredible!

I would have bought another E too, if I survived that crash....
Amazingly the passenger compartment itself stayed basically intact. The dash detached and the steering column ended up vertical and probably was what pile-drived my ankle. But the roll cage structure did its job. I climbed out on my own through the windshield opening. The roof looks bad because the firemen cut it open to check for other occupants, I guess because I wasn't coherent enough for them to believe me when I said there were no passengers.
Nuts. Glad you lived to post these pics. metal and rubber can be replaced. your life cannot. Feels like I've been seeing way too many of these accident pics lately here and in the news. How hard is it to NOT drink and drive? Or pull over and rest if you get sleepy. Geez. WHen I got sleepy from my long trek from Portland to Sac., I pulled into a rest area for 2 hrs. Made all the diff. Adding 2 hrs to my drive may also have added 50 yrs to my life.
That is amazing. Glad you are ok and congrats on the new 2011. I love reading about how sturdy these E tanks are in major wrecks. But uh, sweet mods, looks kind of like a Fiat 500 now.
Wow! These are tough little buggers. Glad you walked (limped) away.

Hey! You wouldn't miss the opportunity to play with your toys....
I am impressed! What speed were you traveling? Post up some pics of the new hero you just purchased. Man do you have something to be Thankful for and I hope you never have to go thru something like this again.
Wow, thanks for posting this. It makes me feel a little more safer. I hope you have a speedy recovery. Pictures of your new E too.
Crazy. Glad you're okay for the most part. Makes a good testament for the E.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. They knew the car was a total loss so might as well get in a little practice with the buzz-saw!

I was going about 60mph, limit is 55mph on that stretch of interstate. The guy who hit me was driving a rented Dodge Charger. The rental car company was able to get their Dodge rep to pull data off some kind of black box type device on the car and it showed the guy was driving 90mph when he bumped me off the road. He wasn't hurt at all. The crash was more E vs. ground than E vs. car.
I wonder if the rental company is going to make the guy pay for the damages since they can prove he was driving recklessly.

Glad you're okay! Scary photos!!
glad your OK HHM . In the first photo the remains of your E looks comicaly like a FIAT 500 not like an E at first glance.
WOW! That's a big hard hit.. you are so lucky to climb out of that mess.

This is where the black box (air bag) will show who was reckless.

TG your ok an able to live another day
Oh my.. that is nuts. Glad your still around
Glad your ok and had protection from the E gods to be able to talk to us today!
