My wife was adjusting the air conditioning and as she was turning the dial her nails (no they are not that sharp) were resting against the panel underneath when she was finished she noticed scratches in the panel. This has not happened to any vehicle we owned. Is the material the panel made of so soft? Is this acceptable? Do we report this to the dealer or to Honda?

 I posted previously (another thread) about the air freshener, and tomorrow am meeting with the Honda rep at my dealer to discuss the damage to the front panel area...and I will be talking with him about the very same nail damage around the dials. I will post and let you know what they say---and they are going to paint the area, too.

I was at the dealer, ready to drive off when i noticed a badly scratched steering wheel. Since then, I've noticed scratches by the shifter, three on the hood, and three on the floor... I am pretty pissed since the dealer (Gunn Auto here in San Antonio, won't even return my calls) I will stopping by tomorrow after work and its not going to be pretty.

John

I'll post pics tomorrow.

Back from the dealer. They replaced-and they said it was not easy-the circular part around the shift knob. I must return at a later date when I can leave the car for painting the console...and scratches. The Service Mgr indicated that they just may replace, rather than paint which does make more sense to me since painting seems to be more tedious than just replacing the dog gone thing....so I am 1/2 way home with the replacement under warranty.
