My 07 SC has developed a clunking sound that appears to be coming from the passengers side when I hit a sharp bump like an expansion stip or manhole cover. It sounds to me like a loose or worn strut bushing or maybe a loose fastener on the strut. It only has 24 k miles so I'm a little surprised by this.

Any ideas on what this could be?

Most likely worn sway bar bushings or end links. Cheap and easy to replace.

Thanks guys. I'll be taking a look at those this weekend. Very, very happy to hear it's probably not something to do with the struts.

Clunkety-clunk

Yup, yesterday my occasional bump-clunk noise turned into a full-time rattle-clunk. Looked at the passenger-rear strut to find it oily (along with the spring, suspension, sway bar....all oily).

OH, handling gets a bit more erratic also....likes to dive/swerve over bumps.

I'm thinking strut failure.

Replace one or both rear? DIY? Cost?
