Very nice work Stillart. I just added a Pro Borla XS muffler and tip with 2.5" pipe. I'd be interested to hear a more detailed discription (cat back?, brand, pipe diam, of your exhaust configuration, etc...)
How did you fasten your lower grill protector? If copying is the most sincere form of flattery, you may be dually flattered.
I went to a muffler specialist just to have dual exhausts added on the right side (instead of one on each side) and he suggested to replace the muffler with a Flowmaster with bigger exhausts, because he said the easiest way to improve gas mileage and fuel consumption is Bigger intake....Bigger exhaust. However, upon asking the service manager if altering the exhaust from the muffler on back would void the warrenty he said yes.
My Honda service manager has been consulted with before each mod on my E. Honda will NOT cover any after-market part. The Service Manager explicitly told me these mods aren't covered by the Honda warranty, BUT these mods will not automatically void the warranty on stock parts. My exhaust mod was careful not to touch the factory catalytic converter and it's connections to the computer. My exhaust mod was a 2.5" pipe from the catalytic converter back. The resonator was completely removed and the stock Honda Element muffler was replaced by a Borla Pro XS muffler and Borla tip. If I put a turbo on and blew the engine, i wouldn't expect Honda to cover my engine. These after market mods don't put any additional stress on the engine. I'm sure if I showed up with mods that did effect other Honda parts (ie: turbo-engine), I'd be dead. I'm just letting my adult owned, highway driven E breath better. All of my work is professionally done.
