A few years ago I had this problem and changed the Idle Air Control Valve and problem was solved. Last month after starting the engine it would idle at about 1,000 RPM which is normal but shortly after starting the cold engine and driving to the first stop sign the car would stall. It does start up again. I thought it was the Idle Air Control Valve again, so I changed it...one none refundable part later, the problem is not solved. I thought maybe it would be the fuel filter, but that's not serviceable and I wiped down the throttle plate and sprayed cleaner in throttle body.

Any ideas?

I have a 2005 EX AWD, 2.4L engine with 109,000 miles

I appreciate everyones help!

Thank you for the lead I appreciate your knowledge. Valve Adjustment seems exactly what I need after searching the posts.

In my old Mercedes diesel, valve adjustment is the numero uno cause of cold start/run problems.
