As of a month ago, they hadn't yet tested/rated the Element.

I have the write up from the Consumer Reports 2003 Buying Guide.....it is an Adobe Acrobat file...I had my brother email it to me.

They didn't test drive it yet....but it is a little write up.....if you want me to email it to you let me know.

This from the April 2003 Consumer Reports Magazine:

Reliability: New, Satisfaction: New, Depreciation: N/A

The boxy-looking Element is a small SUV aimed at younger buyers and avilable with front- or all-wheel drive. It shares underpinnings with the excellent CR-V. handling is responsive, but the ride is a bit choppy and road noise is pronounced. There's no center roof pillar between the front and rear-hinged rear doors, so opening both creates a wide path for loading and unloading cargo. The spacious and flexible interior has a plastic-covered floor that's easy to wash. All four seats can fold back flat, making a bed of sorts. The rear seats can also fold up against the sides, or can be removed altogether.
