A GOLDEN retriever called Angel saved the life of her 11-year-old master when he was attacked by a mountain lion near his home.


The 18-month-old dog flung herself into the path of a cougar poised to attack little Austin Forman.

Someone else sent me this link and my heart just melt when I read it. The article I read had a photo of the dog and you can tell the dog may now be missing an eye.

This is one reason I will ALWAYS have a big dog. My Lucy may be a handful sometimes, but her protective nature is well worth it.

Interesting that HC's post points to a UK newspaper (daily express) . . . because when I went searching for a pic of the hero dog, I found this "tongue-in-cheek" story from something called the "daily mash" , also in the UK.

My brother has 40 acres and his kids where out in the field next to the woods. Thank God the dog was with them when a bear started coming out of the woods. The kids ran for the house while Lucy kept it a bay. She did get a small cut but was just fine.
My sister in law, who is not a dog person, now LOVES Lucy !! LOL

Gidget recently saved me from savage DC wildlife known as a Mall Squirrel. These savages have been emboldened for generations by treat-laden tourists who somehow fail to recognize the filthy rat beneath the fuzzy tail. You can see the creature below is thinking: "Where does that woman keep the treats?" Gidget's saying: "They're mine and you're mine, rat-boy, that fuzzy tail doesn't fool me."
