Elemental lust since 2002, Just Consummated! Ahhhhhh...

Hello EOC!
I've been dreaming and lusting for an Element since I first saw the media blurbs re:Model X. I was very interested. Then with the '02 release of the '03
production models I became really interested. I requested a brochure from Honda. I still have it, with postmark 12/03.
Then I started seeing them
on the road. I stopped at a dealership and looked and drooled and the lust began in earnest...but alas, investment in my video production business seamed to soak up all the extra $$$ I wanted to set aside for a cool new ride so the lust continued, unrequited.
About a month ago I found and bought my '05 Cargo Khaki LX MT 1-owner off-lease with 83k miles for $9990! Yaaaeeee Haaawwww!!! I'm in love with a car again for the first time since I lost my '87 Porsche 944 to a u-turning dittz in a Toyota 4Skinner back in '92.

I haven't seen so much potential for outdoor fun in a car since my '69 VW Wesphalia Campmobile. I've always thought that about the Element. But it's going to take a lot less maintenance/worry traveling and probably more "camper's ingenuity" to have as much fun camping.
My Christmas presents this year? A Helm Service Manual, HD floormats, Access. Rear 12v outlet, cool Element Hat AND Cabana Tent. What a haul!
I hope to contribute to the EOC community in the days to come.
Cheers!
John
P.S. If anyone has an '05 Honda Element Brochure booklet they'd care to part with reasonably, I'd love to have one!

Welcome to the club!

At first I thought you lived in Texas. Then with the snow, it looks like western Pa. No maybe some place south of that.

It looks like a clean Element.

Dom
welcome to the cult :eoc::food004::mystery::hol045: The snow look nice.
Welcome to the EOC! You found a great deal, the color is awesome and a shift stick is for sure a plus in an Element. Enjoy your E!!!:)
Awesome ride!

Ok no profile so I'll play where does he live too!.

Naw, John already mentioned in another thread that he's near Knoxville, TN. Snow in the area is normal this time of year.

I'm jealous about his Khaki with MT. Rare bird. John, is it AWD? (And welcome aboard. You might want to put your details in the profile.)
Nice. Enjoy the ride!!!

Thanks!
> Yesssss! It's a RT4WD!<

We live on the East side of Knoxville, just outside the city limits.

A very big blip on my Element's mod radar is the 6MT conversion. That HAS to be the coolest but most subtle mod I've seen so far.
Also, fog lights, but I have these vintage big rectangular Cibie yellow fogs I'm trying to figure out how to mount... (head scratcher)

I've already picked up a Yakima rack & fairing but w/o landing pads...

Some nice EX alloys are a lower priority but I just love the look of those wheels.

I've put some more details in my profile but will add more. I'm looking for a cool/funny avatar, too.

Cheers,
John
