It's kind of hard to get the panels to match the FedEx logo, but it came out pretty good considering this started out as a green Element!

Why, thank you... I just wish that I could do graphic arts for a living. But I have no formal training and I have no idea what it pays!

Training is easy to get, and you can find out on the net what it pays. What do you do now? Follow your dream, you have talent and imagination.

I have no talent myself, but the rest of the family does. Those who started recently started at $36K. After about two years, they are making about $45K - $55K. The old timers - they won't tell.

I would have bought a purple one :x

I gotta admit, you do some nice work Alien...You could always just do freelance stuff. Like just set up a website and charge per artwork, or color or whatever. Kind of like a marketing thing where you produce pictures for other companies. Put up a portfolio of different stuff you did. Try and get some small local company to let you design something for them (for free at first) and let the word spread that you have that on the side.

Hey Alien,

I'm a Graphic Design Major, and I'm telling you right now you could do freelance work for a designer right away @ $15-25/hr and easily work your way up to $50-60/hr. With only a year of school under my belt I made $15/hr for a catalogue. You seem to have a real talent with photoshop.

How long did each of these images take you? Did you use Photoshop? Which version?

I guess I put about an hour to an hour and half on each image. But I was watching a hockey game at the same time, so... I had to dig pretty deep into the FedEx website before I found logos I could use also. I think that took more time than manipulating the images!

I am learning to use Photoshop 7 right now, but I am very familiar with Paint Shop Pro (poor man's photoshop). I kind of bounce between the two programs right now until I figure out how to do everything in Photoshop that I can do in PSP. I can tell that PS7 is waay more powerful than PSP, but the learning curve is holding me back.

And, yeah I did the UPS truck on HondaSUV.com's home page... it's here also under the 2005 Honda SUT thread.
