I picked up a set of pads/towers at REI for my '05 CK figuring I could strip the bars and locks off an old set of racks I had at home and save a few bucks.
The bars worked and the new towers even came with a new set of plugs for the bar ends! But, I couldn't find the keys so the locks were stuck in the old towers, all except one!
I took the tumbler down to a local hardware store to see if I could get a blank key, but I guess you can only get them from Yakima...:-(
Now to the feel good part... While I was talking to the clerk, another customer interrupted and said he used to work for Yakima and had a few Yak keys in his truck. Turned out he only had two, but one matched my locks!:smile:
Then, when I called Yakima to order a spare and a control key (to remove the other locks from their towers) they said they would send the two keys free of charge!
