it’s was very simple install, took me about 20 minutes to installed the radio. I haven’t installed the front and rear cameras and looking for a place for the usb and microphone.

Also is the screen removable for storage in the glovebox when you park it?

I didn’t take any pictures of the install, but it’s really simple. I got the metra harness with the sub kit for like $13 in Amazon and it’s just matching the colors together.

Does this mess with the steering wheel controls?

They won’t work until you get the steering wheel controls for the back of it. I didn’t get it because I have a 2005 and didn’t come with any

It's too big and attracts a thief.

Good thing for insurance. And I think is the right size my other car came with a 12 inch screen a 7 is just too small

You want to go through the hassle of broken glass and filing claims? They may rip off your cat converter while they're there too. You're asking for trouble.

I’m not going to stop from getting what I want because someone might steal it, because in that case I would never get anything nice. Now do I have to be more cautious of course I do.

Yes as soon as I get home. It’s different size in the top of the outline from the bottom. Bottom is wider than the top

I was considering a 9" screen because the 10.1 extends over the HVAC controls and the vent. It looks like the 9 does the same thing though. I'll have to go with the 7" I guess. I'm looking for a pure android unit though so I can change the UI.

I was looking at purchasing this unit as well. How is it so far? I would primarily be using it with carplay 95% of the time. Do you use carplay or android auto on the unit? If so, how would you rate the response and general overall speed of menus when using it in this manner?

What are your general thoughts on this unit so far? I've seen a few youtube videos on this radio as well and it seems to work well enough.

It’s a great unit no issues so far, yes I use CarPlay all the time and it loads very fast it’s almost instant. I will do a video of it a little later.

Did your Element come with the upgraded stereo with amplifier? If so, have you replaced front door speakers?

Yes. I had to get the amp retention harness. I haven’t upgraded the speakers yet. I am still in the process of thinking what am I going to do with the element in terms of sound
