Dealer said he will order it in March and I would probably get my new Element by end of May or first part of June at the earliest. With everything thats going on in the world with the war and all I wonder if Honda will meet the production date. It's gonna be a long wait I think.

My dealer told me that production of the AWD Manual would begin in May and that no dealers would begin seeing them on their lots until November December time period (they said 6 months later). Is anyone else getting this report or am I the only one? I am gonna really be pissed if my dealer is screwing with me.

I put a deposit on an EX AWD Manual this weekend. My dealer told me that Honda will NOT have the manual transmission for this model year. I have decided to take the EX Automatic which is to be delivered sometime in June. I hope to have the patience to wait that long!

I was waiting for the AWD 5spd EX also...

My dealer said they contacted the Honda powers that be and they said that most likely the 2004 Element will be out before the AWD EX 5spd.

2004 Element is scheduled for late August..

I decided I couldn't hold out.

If this is really true, that the manual will not be out until December then I really do have to make a choice. I absolutely cannot wait that long. Anyone who would take my money and expect that I wait that long will soon know better if I find out this is a fact. I really hate to settle for the automatic if it isn't truely what I want. This is just really too bad for people like me who have built up so much anticipation. It's maddening. I have to wonder have many of you out there are willing to wait that long or will you just settle for the automatic ?

I was really excited about the manual AWD too! but when my dealer told me that I decied to stay with the 2wd. I would have definately gone with the AWD auto if it wasn't such a difference in price. I am really trying to squeze the price down. Now I just have to find an EX 2wd Manual in SOP within my home area. Good luck on whatever you decide to do![/quote]

After buying my E with a 5 spd and 2WD, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Many people couch in it terms of giving up the Manual to get an E now, but instead many "gave up" the AWD. Honda makes a great manual tranny, and front wheel drive is pretty damn good. Unless you live in an area that you must have 4WD or if it's really important to you - the EX 2WD manual is sweet.

I agree. and when my dad saw the placement of the stick, he was surprised, he said he remembered the first hondas having the stick in the same place-ones with motorcycle engines. I like the stick higher anyway, i drove an integra with the same stick but in the normal place and i felt like a T-Rex...
