A friend of mine calls his Judy Garmin.
Funny cartoon! I use the Aussie girl Karen as my voice of guidance. Tried the guy the other day and my wife thought he sounded stupid and told me to switch back to Karen.

Some new voices would always be nice to add like the Tom Tom units.
I too use the Aussie Sheila voice (gives me shivers!), but it can be confusing sometimes.
Living in Washington state, our state highways are prefaced with the state abbreviation, such as WA-522.

The first time I used my gps I was very suprised to hear the lovely voice tell me to "Turn right onto Western Australia 522"!
Holy smoke! I'm 7400 miles (12070 kilometers :)) off course!

I knew I shouldn't have made that left turn in Albuquerque!
:D
My Aussie girl just says the abbreviation as a word, KY is not Kentucky or K-Y it Ky like high with a K:rolleyes:

You just get used to it and learn to look at the screen if you have questions to what she just said.

I have the Nuvi 750, maybe they have changed the language software between units.
i see the same ppl every day on the way to work with their Garmins on, it cracks me up (dont get me wrong, i have one and use it when i need it, but i crack up everytime I see someone using one in their own freaking city)

Have you guys seen the Homer Simpson plugin for the TomTom units? Frickin' hilarious!

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Now I want to trade my NUVI for a Tom Tom:D
I always have my gps set up and it turns on automatically when I start the car. I don't enter in the location for where I need to go unless I don't know where I am going. Having it always on helps when there is an unexpected traffic delay and you need to detour through some odd neighborhood that you have know idea if it will let you out on the other side.

I do use my gps a lot on the highway even to places I know where I am going just to know when I will be getting there. That is my favorite part. I like to watch the ETA drop the faster I drive.
