I love my 08 E, but due to an unfortunate injury I need to retrofit to left foot accelerator and braking. Doing that, I am concerned about stopping in time, not in traffic, but in parking garages, etc. I am worried about crushing the front end plastic. Does anyone have a Bull Bar, Brush Guard type of front end accessory that they would recommend? The ones I find are "one size fits all," and that won't work on an E. Thanks for the help. I may have a bad foot, but that's not stopping me!

A bull bar or brush guard will just bend and actually cause more front end damage - not meant as any "crash" protection. I doubt there is anything that would take much of an impact, other than the crash bars they put on Police Cruisers. You say your going to left foot accel. and braking. Were you a two foot driver before? A lot of drivers are single-foot (right-foot) drivers in automatics, after learning on a standard, as I am, and I have no issues at all in making quick stops. I think a little practice and it won't even be an issue.

You can also get kits that reverse/move the accelerator to the other side of the brake pedal , to make it easier.

There are a number of grille and brush guards out there made for E's. Check out AutoAnything.com for Steel Craft. There's also Hunter and several other makes. Check out pics of my TRP-E in my album.

Why not put in some details on your E? What color is it?

Hi, were these difficult to install? What do they attach to?

They're actually pretty easy to install. The only real issue is getting the mounting brackets on, and only because of the radiator and just barely enough room to get your hands in. Once the brackets are on, attaching the guard was easy. I even managed to do this without any help!

I would go with the brush guard not the bull bar. My bull bar looks ok not as cool as the one on my Tacoma. But my real issue is it only mounts to the radiator. making it more for show than function. I have reinforced it, but it still does not cut it. I should have done a full brush guard.

I hope this helps.
