Sounds Familiar

Good day,

This sounds like the same sound I have been hearing from the front tires on my '05 AWD/Auto Element for about a year. When making a sharp turn at slow speed (like when pulling into a parking space) it sounds as if the front tires are scrubbing across the pavement, instead of rolling smoothly. I used to hear the same kind of noise on an old Jeep I had when I kept the 4WD turned on and drove on dry pavement. No one seems to be able to figure out what is the cause. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks....Mark

Fluid Change Worked!

I must admit that I was a bit skeptical as to how a rear diff. could be the cause of a front tire rumble, but I took a leap of faith and spent the $20 for the fluid.

To my suprise, the fluid replacement worked perfectly and now there is no more noise! After over a year shopping this problem around to various mechanics, I owe it all to the great info and contributors on this site to deliver the solution.

Many, many thanks,

Mark
