Took a nice long trip (about 2 hr drive) and noticed that the Element is geared quite short! At about 80mph, the engine turns about 4000rpm which is about the gear ratio of my Integra (4.40FD Type-R Transmission).

I love short gears but never thought the Element would have a similar setup. I figured it would be geared more for the highway like the Integra LS if anyone is familiar with that. It almost feels like it needs another gear, might need to look into the 6MT setup.

It is ridiculously short. The 6th gear makes a difference, but I think even it is still short (especially when you drive 10-over and the speed limit is 75). At 85 in 6th I'm down to 3200 or so, but I would gladly put up with having to downshift to accelerate in order to get 2500 or so RPMs. I am talking myself into a low-boost turbo and a final drive swap in the distant future. Check the 6-speed threads for more info on ratios.
