Please see the below copied email that I received about a GSD in need of adoption (an an Owner with an E :) ) There is contact info at the bottom of the email for anyone living in the WV/MD/VA/DC/PA area. ( I'll post a picture when I get home this afternoon once I crop it and make it small enough to meet the criteria. Beautiful dog who needs an owner with an E!)

----- Forwarded Message ----

I'm sending this message to my fellow animal lovers in the hopes you can forward this to more animal lovers. Attached are pictures of Matrix, a male German Shepherd abandoned at the Greensburg Bed & Biscuit, where I work part-time. The Greensburg B&B is 2 miles outside of Martinsburg off Shepherdstown Road (Rt 45).

Matrix and his companion, Nautilus, were boarded at the B&B around Christmas. After a few weeks, it became clear their owner wasn't coming back to pick up her pets. Shortly thereafter, one morning, Nautilus was discovered dead in her kennel, most likely due to stomach bloat. Matrix has been alone since then.

He is approximately 2 years old, and remains unneutered. Whoever adopts him will need to have him neutered. He weighs approximately 70 lbs, and is healthy and active. He is a sweet dog; however, I don't know how he is around other dogs or cats, my guess is as an unneutered male, he may be dog aggressive, and would probably eat cats for breakfast. Just a guess.

After six months in a kennel with minimal exercise, he is going "kennel crazy". He needs a home with a large, fenced in yard (or lots of acreage) and some humans who will love him and not callously abandon him like his original owner did. He's a sweet boy who has done nothing wrong, yet is being unfairly punished.

He loves people so I think he'll be OK with small children. He's pretty easy to walk on a leash so I think he's had minimal obedience training.

I'm posting his information on the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue (MAGSR) website, and also on PetFinder. Should be out there in a couple of days.

I realize all of you already have all the pets you want or need. And if you're like me, even though I love all dogs, I prefer small lap dogs as opposed to "house horses". Plus, I don't want my cats eaten, even though it's a tempting thought sometimes.

So I'm asking you to forward this message to anyone you think may have an interest in adopting a young purebred male German Shepherd (obviously with no papers). I will even pay for his neutering if necessary.

Please forward and if anyone is interested, have them call me at the Greensburg B&B at 304-263-4485 from 8:00 am till noon, or at home at 304-725-2579. Thanks for helping me with this effort. At least I feel like I'm doing something to help this poor dog.

Take care!

Sharon

He actually is posted on the MAGSR site, but he is still at that kennel/groomer. He really needs a new home quickly as they aren't caring for him properly there. Please forward on to anyone you know that may be interested!! I wish I could take him.
