I guess i'm now the first SC with them?

Regardless, I still have a little work to do on them before they're "finished".

It's the ASL clear pucks.

Love it, and I must say without the rear decals, that back of your E looks super smooth. Where'd you get the lights?

Oooo nice work dude! Looks awesome, how about some close ups from the lens side and the inside of things? :)
They're rather sloppy right now until I heat up the entire housing and pull it apart to really go nuts with it. :)

so your saying the leds and regular bulbs have the same brightness? What will the resistor do for it? Did you take out the reflector?
No. The LEDs are considerably brighter than stock halogens. The LEDs don't have enough difference between "tail" and "brake" brightnesses, so I need to either increase the voltage for the "brake" brightness, or resist the voltage for the "tail" brightness as to make the difference between the two more like stock.

I have not taken the reflectors out yet. I will remove those and install a chrome shroud when I do the HID retrofit. I will have someone with experience heat up and separate the lenses (all four) for me and i'll go to town.

The third brake light still works great, and if you're actively looking at the tail light, you can tell.

I may keep the reflector when I pull them apart... I like the "ring" look it gives.

Here's two more shots before I pack my camera away:

They were free. Just because you can't justify $50 for two pucks doesn't make it pointless. I need to find the proper resistor and all will be well. :)
free or not, doesnt really matter when it comes to function over fashion. If your telling me you cant tell when you step on the brake, then this mod isnt smart. But if youre telling me that you can fix it with the resistor, then great job. Im looking into doing this as well and im making sure its worth the time.

ghost, I've always thought that the tail's were not bright enough in stock mode,(parking lights), so this mod being brighter looks even more advantageous to me. If the brake needs to be brighter, then I can always add more led's. Thanks for the additional pics and the side-by-side comparison, I look forward to making this mod happen this summer.

An additional ring of equally-bright LEDs around the unit would be more than enough for braking. :)

When are you doing the HID retrofit? I am very interested in doing that as well. What is the reason to switch to LED lights?
