We went to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for a long Father's Day weekend. Finally getting around to getting photos posted. This was the munchkin's 2nd camping trip - this time for 2 nights. He liked playing in the dirt with the pine cones. AND he learned how to drink from a Camelback and eat a banana that wasn't cut up into tiny pieces on the trip! Of course, Ernie was great on the the dirt roads roads loaded down with camping equipment.

Drinking from a Camelbak -- there's a skill I didn't master until a few decades later.

Great pics -- looks like the beginning of a family camping tradition, memories of which your son will treasure forever.

What were the temperatures?

It was in the 80's during the day and a bit chilly at night, but very pleasant. It will be nice when the munchkin can start carrying his own pack in a couple of years. I think the North Rim trip was his 4th nat'l park. I've lost count how many times we've taken him hiking already. We went hiking in slot canyon a couple of weeks ago and Ernie bottomed out on a nasty road getting to the trailhead:twisted:
