i've noticed some rattling in the rear hatch of my e. i looked yesterday and the right hand lift cylinder seems very loose, particularly the shaft. the same is not true for the left cylinder.
anyone know of an adjustment for this or is replacement of the cylinder the only option?

The striker on the hatch and edge cushions are adjustable. Struts are not.

I have the same problem with my EX.
Upper right side of the top part of the clam shell. Sort of a "popping" noise.
Did a thorough take apart of every removable piece and a tightening of all bolts and screws with the exception of the upper hinges. Drove with the lower portion closed and the upper portion open and the "popping" was not heard. Through the process of elimination, I think that the upper hinges are out of specs. There is a noticible misalignment of the lower :shock: right side of the hatch when closed where it meets the tail light lens.
I figure that the problem is with the hinges being shimmed wrong.
This weekend I will get to it and see if I can adjust them properly.
