My wife keeps leaving the lights on in our Element and its due to the fact that the warning beep doesn't work anymore. Seat belt beep is intermittent too, but we always wear belts, so no big deal. Any advice on how to fix that Headlights ON beeper? THANKS. H.

Don't even bother trying to fix it. Simple to add a new one.

the headlights on buzzer is triggered by headlights on and door open. the key in the ignition buzzer (same one) is triggered by the key in ignition and door open. the common condition is the door open. so, does the dome light come on when the door is opened? if not, the switch on the dome light may be in the wrong position for that to happen (which is the middle position).
if the dome light switch is correct and the light doesn't come on when door is opened, then the vehicle doesn't know that the door is open. this is generally caused by some sort of collision between the seat belt buckle and the switch mounted in the door jam. if that switch was damaged, the vehicle won't know about the door. the switch is attached by a single screw and has a wire attached to it. (or should have a wire connected to it) that wire is live (12V). if you don't find a wire, that's a problem. when the door is opened, the switch is supposed to ground that live wire.
so find the switch, remove it from the door jam (it will go back in again). then touch a wire to the connector on the backside of the switch _and_ to an unpainted metal ground. the dome light should come on. that proves the circuit works. assuming it does, then turn your attention to the switch. the switch is easily replaced.
if the dome light doesn't come on during that test, it may just be blown bulb in the dome light, or it may be a more serious problem with the MCU or the wiring. the bulb is easily replaced.

Having the same issue. I replaced the switch with a new one from Honda but it did nothing. Is there a fuse or relay to check that controls these functions?
