Hi guys! I just joined today. I'm a wannabe Element owner. I've been looking for a long time but finding it hard to get rid of my '02 Beetle Turbo S. I love my little car but we have two 60 pound dogs and it's a disaster getting them in the back of the bug. I finally decided last week (at the suggestion of the check engine light on the Bug) that it was time to get the Element. I told my boyfriend that I'd only let the Bug go for a Kiwi Metallic Element. He did some online research and came back with "why'd you have to pick the frickin unicorn of Elements?" Apparently Kiwi Metallic is hard to find. So we went to the local Honda Dealer because they had one on their website. Turns out there's a recall on '07-08 Elements so Honda told all their dealers to stop selling ALL of the Elements until they can fix them. Argh! The sales guy (who was surprisingly nice for a salesman) said he would keep checking for a Kiwi one and call me as soon as they could sell it. They're part of a much larger group of dealerships so I'm hopeful.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. Just wanted to say "hi" and that I'm pretty excited about getting an Element. I'm sure I'll have tons of questions for you guys in the future.

Yap, there is a recall on 07-08 "mooshy break" but hopefully will be solved no problem. Why do you so desperately want a Kiwi? It's just the wrong color and has the lowest gas mileage. :grin: ;-)

I know, I know! Color is a ridiculous requirement of car shopping. I just want something unusual that doesn't blend in. (and I do love lime green!) That's why I love my Bug so much now. Last time we went to look at cars I started crying at the thought of getting rid of it and we didn't talk about it for another 6 months.

The pups are crazy dogs. One is a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier & Border Terrier mix, and the other is a English Bulldog & Shar Pei mix.

Choosing a specific color for a car....that's just weird, unless, well, it's orange;-):grin:

haha! Everyone think the wrinkly one is a boy and the fluffy one is a girl, but it's actually opposite. The wrinkly one (Lilly) is a big ol baby. The fluffy one (Riley) is a cuddle puppy too.

Orange was my other choice, but I've always loved that color green so I decided to go with that.
