I don't usually post for dogs in shelters, but this one got to me. The girl who found her is on another message board of mine. She is just sick over the fact that she brought her to a shelter that may put the dog down at the end of this week. She's got a special needs foster of her own, and just couldn't take on another foster.

I know nothing about that part of the country, what rescues are reliable, etc. If someone could pass this on to anyone who may be interested, I would appreciate it. As we all know, transports are amazing, so we can likely get her almost anywhere.

Want! I wish I had some time for an impromptu road trip because I have been seriously thinking about getting a wirehaired pointer to keep Hobbes company. I was petfindering (that is a word.... right?) last night for a companion for my spotted pal.

Their website does not speak to out of state adoptions but there are not too many shelters that will do such a thing. Probably laws against it, or at least miles of red tape and plenty of fees involved.:-?

You can usually find someone local to spring the dog, but you also need to find a transport to get the dog to you. There are truckers and pilots who do just that.
