How dark is your brake fluid?

I had a brake fluid flush a year and a half ago and the fluid stayed fairly clear for a while. I changed my front brakes a few months ago and blead the brakes using honda brake fluid and now the fluid in the reserve looks a bit too dark to me for the amount of time its been in there. I wanted to see how fast you gus think the fluid turns dark.

I also noticed that the cap on the brake reserve was on backwards yesterday when I was looking at it. I fixed it but do these caps leak air or something when they are on with the arrow faceing the wrong way? That could explain it.

I had to look, how do you put the cap on backwards. I have a 06
does the 05 have a different style cap?
Mine generally doesn't change much in appearance...it gets changed every 2 years.
i have an 04..my cap only goes on one way..
it has arrow in it and says something like arrow faces forward or something like that. Maybe I'll look again but when I looked at it I thought "maybe thats what the problem was" but maybe it dosent matter or I was reading it wrong. The cap only makes a half turn and you can put it on with the arrow faceing forward or back. I believe its supposed to be forward, why I have no idea unless it dosent seal if its backwards??

HMMM? You made me look again. I see what you are talking about now.
But for the live of me I don't see what difference it makes.
Im with you! I dont see why it would matter either but if it dident matter why would they bother to put an arrow on to face it the right way?? Anyone have an idea?
Mine does the same thing, as long as you change it regularly, i wouldn't lose any sleep over it. The color comes from the rubber parts in the system as it bleeds into the fluid over time.

'cause it won't screw on if the "front" is facing the back. At least mine won't. It has little "ramp type" tabs and only goes on when properly oriented.

Mine does, just fine.
