I've got an EX. Right now I'm just keeping a couple of discs in their jewel case in the little storage spot between the passenger and driver. Is there something that's keeps them a bit more organized? Convenient? Are the visor things OK? Any Ideas? I've never had a CD player in a car. It's pretty handy, should have done this years ago.

Thanks

The visor holders don't fit. At least mine didn't. The visors are bigger the a normal car. I just use a 20 cd case and keep it in the door storage.

CDs, well, if you get the driver's arm rest with storage, you can fit 6 in that. Otherwise, we got the 8 disc cd changer, and preload it with tunes before a long trip. We finally got a 24 disc CD case and leave that in between the seats, or in the over head storage pocket.

I have a CaseLogic visor holder tha work sin my S-10. I am hoping to bring it over to the "E". It has velcro straps that hold it in place, they should be adjustable to suit, I hope.

I use the flat storage compartment between the front seats (behind the cup holders). If you stand the CD cases up vertically, you can fit about 14 there, even more if you have the slim jewel cases. They don't fly around in corners, but if you turn hard, they might lean from one side to the other. But that doesn't bother me. You do lose the ability to use the cup holder that is sitting under the flat storage compartment though.....oh well.

If you need a photo, I can post one for you.

[quote:eb02594b36="utahrex"]Just installed the optional wide armrest last night and it has plenty of room for some CD's and other items as well. FWIW. :?[/quote:eb02594b36]

Me too - plus I use the slim jewel cases so I can pack more cd's in there but inevitably some extras always wind up in the passenger seat back pocket. :D

I don't know if you have the stock stereo, jimr140. I have an aftermarket unit. I installed it with the pocket above the player.
I found a 20 cd case that has a nice black, dimpled rubber outer. it fits nicely above the player, blocking the sun so I can see the display more clearly. And it looks like it belongs there.

I have two Case Logic CD binders that I purchased at Target. They are silver and match the interior pretty well. I think they were 9.99 each....and the two of them fit nicely together in the Driver's side door pocket....easy access while sitting at a light....that of coures was before I had a 10 CD changer installed....now I will probably move my cases to the back cargo area, since that is where my changer is mounted (not a Honda CD Changer)

I also just added the steelhorse center console and that thing is massive....would make a great storage spot for countless CDs.

The nice thing about keeping the CD holders in the door pocket is that they kinda blend in with the rest of the interior and are hard to visually tell (while looking in the window) what they are, so if someone looks in my E they can't really see anything worth breaking in to steal.

CD's!!! Get an iPod (or other mp3 jukebox) and you'll never carry CD's again! I have every CD I own, and some I leeched, in my iPod and my load has never been lighter!

I forsee the day when your in-dash player will be a hard drive and you will transfer your songs wirelessly to your car while it sits in your driveway with autosync as you add to your collection. A CD slot will be still be available, but only as an input device for adding new music.

Alien,
You nailed it. I work for a software company and one guy here put an old laptop in his car, wired into his sound system. He has a wireless network card in it, and a folder set to sync with his music collection in his home PC. Every time he adds songs to his home PC, they're transferred automatically to the car while it sits in his garage.

Having to use a laptop in your car is not exactly ideal, just to manage your music, but having your entire collection with you automatically would just be too cool for words.

I burned my entire computer mp3 collection on cds and bought an mp3 player head unit. I keep the cds in the container I bought the blank ones in. You know, that round clear case with grey base you get if you buy 50 blank cds. It fits in the dash compartments on the right side near the power outlet or down by the cup holders.

I loaded a ton of music on my pda but still find myself using cd'z for one primary reason; The interface to navigate through your music collection on either an Ipod, Laptop or PDA isn't something one should be doing while driving. Its easier to grab a big disk labeled DARK LOTUS and throw it in (for me). I would love to have a nice 9 inch tft touch screen, in dash, with a nice menu to navigate all my mp3's. Until then I bought a visor holder from Target and it works well holding about 20 disks.
