Old post I know... but I can tell you from experience with a 2003 AWD and now a 2005 2WD, that they last about 400K miles if you treat them badly. At that point they will need you to treat them better, lol. My 2003 lasted 416K before a head gasket blew and dumped coolant in the oil. My 2005 is still going at 440K. I just had all the seals and gaskets replaced after a major oil leak started and now she seems content to keep on going! I used to drive 45-60K miles per year and I have pushed the maintenance intervals way past what the average owner would and the Honda just keeps on going. My Element is now retired from the work life and will be enjoying life towing my motorcycle to the mountains and racetracks and being an advertisement for my side hustle - vehicle wrapping. ;)

The ‘03 we just bought has 206k, our ‘04 has around 150k, and our ‘08 has 256k. I also have a del Sol with around 450k that runs like a champ on the original engine and transmission. If you stay up on the maintenance they will last a loooong time. That said, I do all my own work and don’t skimp on the maintenance.

Like any car, quite a long time if maintained well.
Unlike any car, it’s a Honda with a bullet proof K24 engine and minimal electronics/tech.
Many owners on here with 300,000+ miles and some with 500,000 plus.
We are all biased but an argument could me made that this is one of the most reliable cars Honda has made.
I've had my 03 since new. I change the oil with Mobil 1 regularly and have only a transmission and converter problem. Just passed 375000 miles.
