How many windshields have you installed in your Element?

I just had windshield number 5 replaced on mine! Every single one has been covered by insurance at least. This was also the one in the worst shape. I had 6 dimples and 4 major cracks.

The cracks and dimples were all the result of stone/rock hits over the last year. The cracks got really bad in March but between the wedding and other things I had no time to get this done. Decided to make an appointment online with Safelite and they came to my office and replaced the windshield in under an hour! Not too shabby... but now I have to sit here and not drive for another hour. :(

So, how many windshields have you gone through since buying your Element?

I have replaced one due to a stress crack which was replaced under service bulletin by the dealer. I now have one with a huge crack that will need to be replaced eventually (impact only 6 weeks after having the original replaced). My vote today is 1 replaced but it will be two when i replace the current cracked one.

My 2003 had the windshield replace twice.

My 2006 had it replaced once so far.....I suspect number 2 will come by the end of this summer.

Of the three i have replaced two were covered by warranty and one i paid for myself.

Still on the OE glass. I will say that it lasted a whole two months before I got my first bulls eye.:-(

Still on the original. Lots of chips, one bullseye (filled) right in the centre of the driver's side -got it within 6 months of getting the vehicle but I guess I'm too cheap to replace it.

Pretty darn good actually but we've lived in southern B.C. for the past 8 years which is a LOT better than the north. I used to replace windshields on most of my vehicles every year. Those were the days when there was no cost replacement -in the past 5 years B.C. has gone to a $200 deductable

Funny, that was my first thought when I saw this thread, so I'm keeping my mouth shut . . . I know, hard for most of you to believe! ;-)

I'm almost in need of a 3rd replacement ..................I only had this one in 2 weeks before I got a nice rock ding - had the "chip repair" so I'll wait until I get another ding before I pull the trigger

I voted for 1. I haven't replaced it yet, but will be doing so next week. I have too many to count chips, a few of which have tiny pinholes actually going through the glass. I also have one long major crack going across the bottom part of the windshield and one short one stemming from that.

4 one going in soon.

Bought my 04 ex awd last Aug. Replaced 1st in Feb 09, 2nd in Apr 09, and now third in May 09. Only $100 deductible, no charge on Apr windshield. May will include side trim and plastic clips.
One chip to crack on black part drivers side middle, other 2 on black part bottom, center and just passenger of center.

I want a more robust windshield. All rocks, all highway. Any "realistic" tips?

My 08 was parked. I came out to get coffee on a break after like 5 hours of being parked. Had a nice 9 inch or so crack from the corner, up through the reggie/inspection sticker area and over. My dealer didn't want to replace it. Some rep type guy form honda came to look at it. Left me waiting almost 2 hours in dealership while it was supposed to be a 5 min thing.
Well this was the time having a toddler covered in chocolate chip cookie came in handy. She touched every window at the dealer with grimy hands, when they overheard me tell her to go play in the odyssey on the showroom floor....well lets just say I waited no more, and window was repaired shortly after that.

I am on the 3rd one and it was replaced by Safelite also and of course a month after getting it replaced,, BAM!! got another hit right in front of the wheel. I got one of the repair kits that presses the fluid into the chip and it is almost not visable. Our wind shields get hammered here in the mountains from cinder stone that they put on the roads in the winter. Better then salt I guess other then it sand blasts all the exposed parts.

I bought my E used last month. The previous owner had the window replaced in March. Just last weekend I got a nice 2" star in the middle of the windshield. I looked up the brand of the glass and it is Honda. That is two Honda Windshield in about 2.5 years. I am thinking about getting it fixed but I am thinking of letting it get worse so I can get a new window that is better like a Pilkington or something.

the brand of the glass has never had any influence on how long it lasted or how well it could take a rock hit. I've had 2 Honda windshields, 2 Pilkington, something else now.

I try to stay a distance away from the front vehicle. Probably doesn't help much but consciously it does.:)

I had a huge rock?! or something hit my windshield this past weekend, and it's horrible... that even "I" know I have to replace my windshield....

Do you guys only use OEM Honda windshield when you replaced?

Since I have $500 deductable, I will just pay out myself... and start looking around and seems there are big difference on price with OEM glass and non-OEM....

Just wondering if OEM is so much better than non-OEM one... any know the best..?

Thanks!
