I know it's not the most popular move -- based on some of the posts on this forum -- but since I don't want to lose any space in my LX, I'm installing the factory subwoofer. Since I don't want the hassle of installing an OEM amp, how much power can the factory sub handle from an aftermarket amp without frying the thing? Any suggestions for a low-profile mono amp that would fit under the passenger seat? I've heard good things about the Sony Xplod Slim XM1S, any thoughts?

I'm pushing 700 watt max, rms?(gain all the way) on top of the stock amp to the stock sub. i have it set at -6 on bass, and 6 on temple. on volume 40 i have sub set at -6 to -3. on from volume 15-7 i have the sub set at 0 to 3.
audio source is my phone through BT.
hope that helps,

Realistically, just for someone installing a small aftermarket amp.

BACK TO THE OP'S question -

WHAT size amp should I get, IN REAL LIFE?

2 channel 100 watt amp? wire in channel to one side, and the other channel to the other side?

SOMEONE please answer this question in a format easily understood by mere mortals.

THANK YOU.,
