I was not pleased when the gvt side-impact results were released this week. I was hoping for a 5-star rear-passenger rating. It received a 4 (I know still good) but with the tag line: higher likelihood of head injury.

I looked back and the last time Honda had a tag line like that (1999 4dr Civic) it was corrected with the next model year.

Is Honda likely to look at these results and do some shifting of the backseats to correct it? If so, might we be likely to see it in the 2004 model or later?

That result has made me hesitate about buying and E because that's where my kids will be sitting. I'm still debating but know that I could buy and Odyssey with 5-stars and no tag line. However, I don't like the Odyssey and really want to wait for an improved Element.

My dealer didn't have any ideas about this topic, but I thought someone who has dealt with Honda longer might speculate based on experience.

Thanks a bunch.

I would imagine Honda would start working on it right away, however I wouldn't venture to guess how long it would take to resolve, if it is inherent to the rear door design you may be SOL, until a major design change.

I've been edited! :eek:
That's all right, I wasn't the only one :wink:

In this thread Luscious had asked about my avatar, the answer being:
They are Freddy the Frog and Sammy the Seal, the mascots for the U.S. Navy SEALs, I am a former member of SEAL Team One. I've got a one of a kind tatoo of Sammy the Seal on my forearm to remind me of the good times :D

Being a SEAL is about as cool as you can get. A dear friend in his own right, and oldest son of two dear friends, is now at Annapolis, about to start his second year. He wants to fly helicopters. Being kind of like an aunty to him, I fret and worry, but I also believe in him and in the Navy to train and equip him well.

If an Element is cool enough for a Navy SEAL, it's cool enough for anyone. Question is: are we cool enough for it?

UDT = underwater demolition team?

Go Navy! Beat Army!
