I can't wait to get my Element back this weekend from the shop. It was rear ended on the road and bruised up pretty badly, so while I had her in the shop getting fixed up, I decided to have any other work needed done.
for accident repair:
frame machine, body work, labor
new rear quarter panel
new tail gate cover
new tail light
new rear bumper and cover
(car was purchased already having been hit in the front, without my knowledge, a very smart cover up and a very dumb and expensive lesson on my part, never trust dealers, ever)
new front bumper and cover
new horn
new radiator support
new transmission mount bracket
new spark plugs
new belt tensioner
new license plate bracket
And all of the above is in addition to what I've already done to the car:
new radiator
new ac compressor
new serpentine belt
new battery
replaced diff fluid
new tires
new brake pads f + r
new rear motor mount
And other stuff I'm sure I'm missing. I've never really been fond of this car. Maybe because I bought it with all of its gremlins, maybe because the gas mileage has been horrible lately, or whatever reason, but for once, since my Element has been away for almost 2 weeks now, I really and truly miss my Ellie. I just want her back home so I can wash her.
Looking at this car from a higher, more objective point of view, I can safely say that it was one of the worst purchases I ever made. I don't say this to say the Element is a bad car, but MY Element was a bad car. I know it's my fault for dealing with a shady used car dealer when I bought this, so I am not blaming anyone but myself.
Bad, bad, bad stupid purchase, and I still owe 6k on the loan -__-
