I like my Element for the utility, especially being so dog friendly with plastic interior and I like the simplicity and ruggedness. I didn't want 12 mpg but also I didn't really buy it with fuel economy as a priority. That said you'd think Honda would be able to make it get closer to what something like the 2.4L GMC Terrain gets in mpg - the Terrain is few inches lower but still tall and boxy, and is longer and heavier and has 16 more hp than the E but reportedly gets 32 mpg hwy which is 7 more mpg than the E says on the sticker.
