Sup Elemates?

I'm trying to find the best iPhone solutions for my Element. I would like a mount that charges the phone while connected. The goal is to have my iPhone mounted somewhere near the gear shift so I can touch it while driving. Yes, I said it. I may touch my phone while driving. LOL!

I'm thinking about trying to build a custom solution that would come out of the extra space below the aftermarket deck. The space is so small that it's kind of useless any ways.

Any suggestions or photos would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

I use the iSimple system to connect directly to my HU.

I use the Panavise bracket and iPhone ProClip holder to mount my iPhone next to the stereo, and I use a Kuda mount along with another ProClip holder to mount the iPhone next to my shifter. If I have my iPhone up by the stereo, my iPod sits in the mount by the shifter.

I use this:

Comes with a flex mount and a vent mount. Has a passive sound-box that makes it easy to hear turn-by turn directions with my Drive GPS app. I use a coiled power adapter cord I picked up at Best Buy, and the vent mount. Works great.
Can you post a picture of how this option looks in your E? I would appreciate it.

MKH,

Can you use the flex extension along with the air vent mount and will it hold an iPhone with a fairly thin hard case????

No pictures, although if you follow this link to IbElement's post, you'll see the bracket being used for a GPS on the left side of the stereo. I have one there for my GPS too.

I'll try and take some pictures for you this weekend. I can't promise though, since I am currently doing some mods under the dash and have removed the bracket on the right side of my stereo as well as the Kuda mount next to my shifter.

iPhone Charging Solution: Alpine DPR-RDS1

Finally, after a few days of research I've found my solution.

One cable to play and charge my iPhone/iPod.

iPhone Charging Solution:

- Alpine DPR-RDS1
- ANY head unit (deck) that has FM capabilities. I use a Pioneer DEH-3900MP.

My buddy installed this using an aftermarket pioneer deck and the iPhone charges and plays back all music.

Works for me!

Thanks everyone!

Alpine iDA-X303 + iPhone 3G

Elemates,

Okay okay, after multiple posts and chats I've finally decided on what I'm going to do to solve my problem of playing and charging my iPhone 3G. After talking with you people I was considering the iSimple, USASpecs and other solutions. By the time, I added the costs of ordering the parts, etc... I might as well get a new head unit that is made to work with the iPhone and guarantee I won't have an issue.

Does anyone have any insight on the Alpine iDA-X303 + iPhone 3G?

Check it out:

Thank you!
