We went down to scout things out and write down exact directions on a few things. Here's a quick recap....

The event hotel has us down for 40 rooms. We got a report of the roster and it looks like a few of us are double-booked for that night (unless some of you booked two rooms on purpose). We'll contact those affected so at least you can wipe out the extra just in case. I'm one who is guilty because I didn't realize Julie had already booked our room.

Our hotel pool is outdoors, out in the back and small.

There is SO much around our hotel. Lots of restaurants, shopping, casinos, gas, auto parts, car wash, etc. It's a GREAT location.

We took two different routes into downtown for a Cardinals game. One took 30 minutes and the other took about 25.

Gas was about 2.65 in the area.

The river boat we take for the dinner cruise docks right below the Arch. Parking is available by the boat on the levee.

The metrolink system that we could take into the game/city has a station only about 5 minutes from the hotel with a big parking garage. A full-day pass on it is under 5 dollars but we need to find out how late the thing runs. It *may* run later on game nights, but we don't want anyone getting stuck downtown - of course you can always get a cab though.

Scalpers were making a killing last night. They set a record for attendance at the new Busch. The cheapest I could get four seats were bleacher seats at 60 a pop. This was just over an hour before gametime too, so I'm sure prices were dropping later. Bottom line - this ballpark is hot right now and downtown St. Louis is a hot place to watch a game. There is an outdoor bar area (called Shannon's Outfield, I think) that was huge and packed as I walked around looking for tix.

Parking was as low as 6 bucks for a few blocks away to 20 bucks to park right across the street.

THIS EVENT IS GONNA ROCK! JULIE AND I ARE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU IN ST. LOUIS!
