Is there a kayak rack attachment that you can put 2 kayaks on top of my Element, the one Honda offers only lets you put 1 kayak on top. The kayak is botton down. I,m looking for one where the kayaks our on the side so you can fit 2 on the roof.

Check out the selection from Yakima and Thule. There are a lot of other brands too. What you need is the j shaped cradles that hold the kayak up.

OE cross bars are rated for 60lbs

Spend $'s and how many that is the only question.

Honda OEM Rack

Two problems with the OEM rack:
1. They flex, which creates an issue with long kayaks / canoe.
2. Fixed load bar width limits the carrying capability, although with J-bars you can carry two kayaks although 90+ pounds will exacerbate the flex issue.

With Yak / Thule bars you can use a longer bar than the fit tools spec and extend the bar width to the width of the E including side mirrors. I carry two bikes and two kayaks attached to Thule load bars on a TPS Lizard rack.
