So for the past couple of months or so, I noticed that every once in awhile, when I attempt to lock my E via the keyless remote, it doesn't actually lock the vehicle.

Upon further inspection, it's as though the system/vehicle doesn't have enough juice to lock the vehicle (it makes a faint "clicking/locking noise" but doesn't actually lock the vehicle). It sounds extremely strange, but that's the best I can describe it.

Also I noticed more recently that when I use the remote, the light via the keypad registers, but in particular cases it's brighter and than sometimes more faint.

I suspect that the remote may need a new battery. If in fact it does, do I just pry the keypad open?

Just want to get an idea of what I'm dealing with as I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to all of this.

Thank You!

If you go to O'Reilly's or Radio Shack, they will do it for you if you buy the battery from them.

Was the part a $4 calulator battery from your favorite big box or hardware store that can be installed by simply using a coin to remove the battery cover on the remote?
