I got a great deal and a lot of cooperation from Gillman Honda in Rosenberg. This was after two other dealers tried to run us through the hoops. One wouldn't even try to get us a car unless we gave a $500 non-refundable deposit. We tried to deal through them anyway, were promised a specific car, only to told later that they couldn't get that car, but their manager said to sell us what was on the lot. We walked. Next dealer $100 non-refundable deposit. We were shown a particular car on a list and told that we would definitely get that car. Same story - two days before it was due, we were told that that car wasn't coming to that dealer, and by the way there were discontinueing SLM as a color. Left the $100 on the table and walked.
Told our story to the Gillman folks, got a promise of another car on a list, but no deposit. Got a call from them, the car we were waiting on, wouldn't come in when promised, but thay had located one north of Dallas, and it was ours if we wanted it. Did the deal the next day and were thrilled.
Anyway, be careful of deposits, get everything in writing, and good luck! Oh, Daryl was the manager and Mark the salesman we dealt with.
