When I checked my AT Fluid I found a black rubber boot/cap lying on the tranny. It has a 90 degree angle, small hole at one end with large hole at opposite end. The large hole fits snuggly over the tube which protrudes up out of the tranny in back of the AT dipstick. Parts schematic doesn't show a cap there however. What is that tube on the tranny anyway? Where does this cap go?
Thanks in advance
Wes

I think it is called a fettuccini adapter....I've got one on all my bikes.

It is some sort of breather for the trans. It goes in that hole to the left/behind of the dipstick (as you're looking down on it from the front/radiator). Be sure your dipstick handle is oriented towards that breather when it is reinserted.
