When turning sharp (and slow) my truck makes this LOUD noise, and the steering wheel tightens up. This has happened a few times over the last few months, and 2 of those times, the roads were wet, and happened when I was turning left into my driveway. Last time it happened, the battery light came on for a few seconds, my wheel tightened up alot, and once i turned the wheel, a split second later, the battery light went off.

I just read the thread about the guy whose battery light would come on and his wheel would tighten when he went through water, but I am not going through water, and am ALWAYS turning when it happens.

My truck is currently at the Honda dealer, and i was told today that they "didnt' hear anything" and wanted to keep it over night. My warranty is up on the 22nd of this month, and I'm concerned that I will be screwed if they dont hear the noise, and then on the 23rd, it gets even worse and ruins something under the hood.

So besides asking what you guys think is wrong with it, is stuff like that covered under warranty? And will it be covered even after my warranty expires since i brought it in before it expired????

It sounds like your belt is slipping and needs to be changed. That will cause a loud squeal when the is locked ether left or right. Check the grooves to see if there is glazing. Welcome to the club.:)

I agree with slimerdogs that it appears your belt is slipping thus causing your issue. It could also be that the belt tensioner is getting weak too but it is most likely the drive belt that needs to be replaced. You didn't mention how many miles you had on your E. As for the dealer checking your belt...it is possible they could have missed it. A good technician would find it right away. Hope this helps you.

Just got off the phone with the dealership. They said my drive belt had a tear in it, and that's the only thing they can find wrong.

$157 to have them change it. I just read the thread about changing it yourself... no chance in hell i could do that.

They also mentioned my after market brakes (from Midas) and said I needed Honda brake pads because they make alot of noise too. Over $200 for that... i said "maybe next time" - i have plenty of pad left on each one, and will deal with the squeaking.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Here's an update:

Truck was brought in LAST Saturday. Picked it up at 8am this morning, get a mile down the road, accelerate onto the hwy, and the engine starts sputtering, and the engine light is on.
So it's back at the dealer. I'm so aggravated!

Any idea what the sputtering could be caused by?
It was like the engine couldnt make up it's mind if it wanted to stop or go (while accelerating).
It happened twice in the mile I had to back track to the dealership.
