Hoping some of you mechanically minded E owners might be able to help with my other vehicle - a 95 Dodge Ram 1500 Pick-up. It's primarily farm use so it doesn't get a lot of driving. Lately, it starts fine and I can drive it a mile or two and then if I apply break pressure going into a corner or something at low speed- it just cuts off! I can get it started again by applying some gas as I turn the key and throwing it into drive quickly. Sometimes it's stalls again a few minutes later. Here's a clue though, if I can get it on the highway and really get the engine heated up it doesn't do it anymore. Only happens at a low idle. And as mentioned, it starts up absolutely fine and sounds normal. Could this be moisture/water in the gas tank? I'm in the pacific northwest. Any ideas to save me having to take it in would be appreciated.

SWAG here (from era of vehicle) is idle bypass is clogged, throttle body is gunked-up or the fuel injector is fouled. Don't know the specific vehicle, so can't recommend a quick fix beyond dumping a bottle of injector cleaner into the next couple of tankfuls.

The 5.9 (360ci) in my 3500 Dually runs like crap....but always runs....one stall (in the dead of winter) in 120k miles of farm/work use. But I easily burn thru two or twelve tanks of fuel every week.

I started with the bottle of fuel injector cleaner. There is a lot of stuff that could clog things up around here... hay clippings, dust etc... I might need to ask more about the throttle body and idle bypass, but will try the additives first. Thanks both for the suggestions.

good quality fuel injection cleaner,lucas,valvetech, not the $2.99 a bottle get good stuff,also the I dle controal can be cleaned with a good crc brake cleaner through the throtol body while it is running.some systens wont work wright if it cant find the seat(carbon on seat makes it search& cant find it,especaliy if the battery has ben disconected))at least thats what I was told,I cleaned mine & it worked great. mine was an 01 itchey***** witch was part of chrysler at the time. hope this helps

No...but i've paid for a few. :-(

Hercules (my Dually) gets around 4.5-5.5 mpg. Yup...sometimes I get 7 if i'm running empty w/o a trailer. I almost always have a trailer on it. I stop for gas around 1/4-1/3 tank at around 120miles. Last year around this time I stopped for fuel 3 times in one day, and the cheapest fill up was $95.

Its a pig...but it works. ;-)
