That's a pretty good price since it has all of those options. Just make sure that it is a TFT LCD SCREEN. There are new LCD screens out there that are NOT TFT and you will be very disappointed because they are not clear.

Installing it depends on the person. I've never had a hard time installing any AV in the car. I didn't even put any holes in the headliner when I installed my overhead tv. I removed the dome light and used the same holes.

If you are wary about a self install, HH Gregg does any mobile electronic install for $60 an hour. I used them for my audio installs ($30 per set of speakers or CD, Mp3 etc.) each install took maybe a 1/2 hour. You do not have to buy from their store. I know HH Greg is new to my market and isn't in many but I thing Best Buy and Hifi Buys will do the same. However, my best buy was very hesitant about working on the E... too new. Pffft, whatever.

I've been a direct importer of mobile electronics for nearly twent-five years now. I currently sell our full line of video products exclusively to installing 12-volt specialists in North America. First, as advised, be careful that you are not buying a STN grade LCD monitor instead of the preferred standard, TFT. Micro has been selling an inexpensive 7.2" STN screen for the past two years or so and it is not generally accepted for anything other than what it is, a price leader aimed at the budget conscious and uneducated consumer. They do however also sell TFT screens in this size so, with the info provided, I cannot be more definite on what you are loking at. What I can share is a direct answer to your original question: many of my dealer customers have shared that they have had consistent problems with Micro honoring their warranty. This is a very bad situation and would lead me to recommend that you pass on their products regardless of how attractive the price may be. Please remember that the best value usually does not come with the lowest price. Exactly what you buy and from whom you buy it from is very important. Installation can easily be done by you but I'll always insist that installation performed by an experienced certified professional installer will be preferred for a long list of reasons. :)

I want an MP3 player but have no idea which one is a good (mid-price) one? Also, what sort of jack is used to acces the port on the dashboard? (Looks like a simple earphone plug).

Next, I have a factory (one-disc) cd player. It has the ability to be connected to a 6-disc player. I bought a "Targa" cd changer from a friend but it has no cables. Are all 6-disc changers pretty much interchangeable? And are all 8 pin plugs the same? I am hoping this will work with my factory unit.

Hank,

You'll get more responses to your question if you start a new thread on this instead of burying it in an unrelated topic. There are also numerous posts regarding MP3 players and the Element if you browse the Mobile Electronics category or do a search.
