Here is a couple pics of the new family dog. He is 1/2 rot and 1/2 bloodhound.
My wife had been searching for a dog that looked close to my old dog which was 1/2 rot 1/2 lab. It took her 6 months without telling me about it and she did find one down in southern Ohio at a shelter. She plugged the address in the GPS and just said follow it. After 3 hours of driving, we pull up to the shelter and I said NO! She coaxed me inside and I saw the dog she searched so long for. I tried to connect to him, but he was way to scarred and skiddish, he was in there for 2 months and I did not want to bring a dog home to 2 kids that was jumpy and scarred of every human but the shelter employees. As we were walking out, I saw this dog that is only 5 months old and he was huge 42lbs huge. I walk up to him and boy did he just start jumping all up the cage. He looked so close to my old dog, same markings, colours, and floppy ears. I took him outside and we just connected. I took him inside and put him back in the cage and looked around. I watched another couple walk over and look at him and he just laid there, I thought that was wierd, he was just jumping all around. I walked back over while the couple was still looking at him and he got right up and started jumping at the cage, I then knew he had to be mine, it was fate. I then loaded him up, payed the $40 fee, and drove off. He loves the Element, he just chills. He is great with the kids, the only flaw is he is affraid to go down stairs, so I have to coax him off the porch to go potty. So we had had him for 2 weeks now, he goes everywhere with us, and is already a great motorhead dog.

We missedd you yesterday at the meet. You would have fitted right in with your great looking pup. He is adorable! Hope to see you next time!
Yeah, I wanted to go. I just didnt have the money, I really should have not got the dog, really did not have the money then, but I could not leave such a great dog in the shelter, I just had to rebudget for the week, plus I had to put 2 tires on my wifes Impala, that was $300 I really did not have this week, it is a SS, a V8 car with bald tires in the rain just does not work well, lol.
Thanks for the compliment on my PUP.

I think most of E-ple who were there yesterday would agree that it's better you saving the dog from the shelter than spending money to come to the E-vent. There will still be the chance to meet. Take care!

Congrats! What a great story and a great name for the pup.

Keep posting pics of CLUTCH the cutie.
What a cool mix. I helped my gf pick out a bloodhound mix from the local Basset rescue and she is so fun. Rotties are bad-ass too, that is gonna be a really cool dog once full grown and fully adjusted. Hopefully the rottie inteligence dominates over the scent hound stubbornness. Either way, both breeds are very sweet and excellent family dogs. Just wait till all that wonderful skin starts to fill in! Congrats.
LovE his namE!
what a cutiE!
Clutch is a cutie
Thanks for saving another one !!!!!!!!!!
What a cute pup! thanks for saving a shelter dog. Bloodhounds / coonhounds make great mixes. Here is my Border Collie Coonhound mix Maggie (also a rescue) with similar marking as Clutch.

Thanks for the comments, he is a cute dog, he has those sad puppy eyes that get him a lot of attention, its funny, I cant take him anywhere without atleast being stopped once to be asked what he is. I had to rescue him, he was just so ready for me, he is already comfortable with us and sleeps at the end of our bed and sits easy, shakes, and my wife taught hime how to give high fives, no joke.

Lordbroll, you have a beautiful mix, nice save too you also.
Well... if we are posting cute Hound mix pups i gotta put one up too! This is Stella (my GF's) who came from Basset Rescue with the label of a bloodhound/basset mix. Who really knows because she is very tall for a basset mix. This is her atop Camelback Mtn. here in Phoenix. She comes on all of our hikes and is great off leash (for a hound) except this one because tons of people do it and it is in the middle of the city.
