Well thank you very much! I’m pretty proud of it. What other car in what other color could be so mirror-like and reflect so well? Not many other cars that are this square AND black so it is like a mirror all around with the condition the paint is in. And it’s not freshly waxed or anything. I just had it washed and the videos are 12 days after it’s wash!

I woke up like a kid on Christmas. Had one bid for $1 hahaha. Just gotta roll with it and see. I’ve been watching how the last day is really where is all happens. Still, I admire the $1 bid. For a little bit, it was that bidders car for $1. No reserve is a trip

Serious bidders (including me) usually wait until the final 30 minutes or so. And BaT has no sniping, every time someone bids near the end, the auction extends 2 minutes to allow others to respond.

That’s really great to know. I saw that on some other element auctions I followed. Still no reserve has two benefits as far as I can tell. Each bidder owns it in that moment….and it’s a rush on the seller side!

That's really nice of you to say! I originally wanted a reserve but had to trust the process so we will see. I am really happy it gets the attention I feel it deserves.

Another BaT one sold and a comment said "That must be the cleanest Element in the country" or something like that. It may be childish but I took slight offense haha.

It's going to be an emotional 7 days but the foundational feelings are pride, joy, and appreciation for the next owner. Also GRATITUDE for the gift of a site like Bring a Trailer that honors the enthusiast spirit in letting a loved one go...or welcoming a new addition.

Well, the original sticker price of $26,365 in today's dollars would be $34,955, so anything north of $28,000 would be awesome. Ten years of use with so little depreciation!

Thanks @lilms . We will see. It definitely an act of trust until the last moment.
Like a trust fall….so far it feels like “Is anybody going to catch me?” as this thing still sits at 13k.

But there are some people I’ve discovered on this forum that are just really outstanding examples of who you would want as a neighbor in your community. They had great insights and at some point you have to decide to try and just roll with the punches.

And I am sure THAT is the thing I will miss most about my car…this community. Element folks are generally pretty amazing people and it’s impossible to put a price on leaving the club.

It’s hard, really, but a person has to provide for their family and just do the best they can. Sheesh, now I’m getting emotional haha.

That was the main deciding factor to use Bring a Trailer. @centerpunch and @JDPaskall pointed out how it works and what really struck me is BaT is where the biggest Element fans are. Again it’s the people…the community.

They were right so far! BaT is real car lovers community and that’s where I hope to find someone who really really appreciate how far I’ve taken this car in this condition and who will take the torch from here.

Thanks @SurfShack! I consider inflation but yes that would be cool! That definitely was not something I ever considered!

However, once I knew what the value on these cars is doing, it made it harder for me to enjoy it. Especially since mine is so clean. More than once I’ve told my kids or even my wife to be careful around the car. And I really don’t wanna be that dad or that husband. After all, I originally got this car too keep my wife happy, comfortable, and safe.

Even though this Element has been at the center of many of our greatest memories, I started to feel a heavy weight to preserve it. Then, after I did the work on the paint and detailing, it became a “my precious” situation. Bad for me, good for the next owner!

So I will get my garage back and lighten up…and try not to look at Element prices in 5 or 10 years
