I just lower the spring a lot, break the locking ring loose on the strut housing, then spin the housing into position, tighten up the locking ring, then tighten the spring back up, taking measurements before and after.
The ride is not bad it can be a little bouncy but the struts can be adjusted and it seems to make a difference I just have not messed with it yet I am trying to see how it handles being this low.that e looks great, really like the stance, like it's just kinda moping around
quick question, how is the overall ride with stock size tires and rims?
I really like my stock rims and wanted to maybe run a lower and wider tire with some coilovers when i am able to afford them.![]()
Yea I know that is not going to work out. I am not all the way down I still have over 1.5 inches left to drop it even more. I am going to raise it up just a bit the back more than the front when I hit really hard bumps things get interesting. It looks good, now try driving it with 3-4 people...
By the looks of it you have the rear to the maximum lowered adjustment, even though there is still room for the coil to lower more.
Not only is the pillow ball adjustable, but the lower mount has a slotted upper bolt giving you even more adjustment of camber.did you have to get a camber kit for the front? i was reading on ksports website, that it has pillowball mounts so you dont need a camber kit for the front...
soon I shall have a complete suspension package ( ksports, sway bars, rear LCA's ) im very exited!![]()
Bad idea to raise/lower ride height by adjusting spring preload as it stresses the shock. Correct way to do it is adjust the shock itself by loosening the shock lock ring and lower the shock body itself not touching spring preloadI just lower the spring a lot, break the locking ring loose on the strut housing, then spin the housing into position, tighten up the locking ring, then tighten the spring back up, taking measurements before and after.
I believe that what he was saying and thats how I have been doing mine. I was hoping for an easier way now I just drop the whole coil over. I readjusted my rears and it should not rub on the body for now have not tested it with passengers. I need to bring the front up about two turns. I also believe I have some toe in the front, so I better get the front aligned very soon.Bad idea to raise/lower ride height by adjusting spring preload as it stresses the shock. What exhaust do you have on your E, is it custom?
Werd in all do time I am not done modding this thing yet!now it needs wide rims, stretched tires and melted fenders to make it hellaflush!
You're welcome. Thanks I am running the gibson catback. There are a few shots of it in my profile pics I will try to add a sound clip too.
I think I found a parking garage with my name on it should make a vid this weekend plus a few more pics. I may even lower just a tiny bit more. You're welcome.
I just checked out those pics in your profile, looks nice. I've heard a few E's on here with that Gibson exhaust, although I sure wouldn't mind hearing yours too.8)
Thanks!! I am still away from my vision of what I want it to look like. I have more than one car that I mod, so it's hard to spread funds for all of them.siiiiiiiick.. good job.
