And EOC member at that...
Over the holidays, my $1800 Ford Escort that I was determined to drive until death, got in an accident and is no longer with us. So I started to shop around.
Ended up finding a 2005 FWD Element EX with 70K down in Texas. I live in Kansas and thoroughly enjoyed the drive back home! Granted, I have only had the vehicle 2 days, but am thinking that I made the right decision going with the E.
The carfax checked out clean. 1 previous owner who took it to the local honda dealer for every oil change! The car is incredibly clean inside and out and appears to be mechanically sound.
The only problem I have noticed is in the rear suspension. Slight bumps do not cause any problems, but anything larger than a speed bump will make the back end produce a low-tone squeak. After some reading, I saw something about the bushings on the rear sway bar...but would like to get a few second opinions. I did not know if this was a somewhat common issue that others have experienced.
Other than that, I have not found any problems with my new E...
I know the best thing to do would be to take it to my Honda dealer and have them check it out, but are there any regular maintenance updates specific to the E that I can handle myself. You know, the stuff that everyone needs to do at XX thousand miles or Honda's notorious timing belt thing...E has a chain right?
I consider myself to be fairly mechanically inclined so I can at least attempt most of the service needed!
Thanks in advance for the help!
