HI all, finally decided to pull the trigger on an E. While doing research on them a while ago I saw a thread for a "backpack" that went on the back hatch for cargo. I can't seem to find it anymore, and I would like to know if anyone has used one. I will be doing one or two big road trips a year w/ the wife 2 kids and a dog. i would prefer to not put a carrier on the roof for MPG reasons, as its going to be a 700 mile drive each direction. Thanks for any help in advance. Looking forward to joining the communit"E"!

You might to better with a hitch carrier/box. Get a hitch installed, then add a carrier tray/box that plugs into the hitch.

I was thinking about the hitch mount, but I may also be towing my jetski, which will shoot that one down! I am trying to avoid the rooftop, just because of the mileage decrease and i would assume increase in wind noise. Does anyone remember seeing the back pack thing or am I hallucinating!

I think I know what your talking about but also can't find a link. We use a cargo carrier with 2 waterproof bags from Rola. They do have cargo carriers that you can also tow with. You might want to look into that as an option.
