Oh man, I loved to ski Taos Mountain.
In the 80's when I was in college in Albuquerque, my girlfriend (at the time) had family in Taos. We'd go up there at least twice a month during ski season and ski from open to close, and then soak in the hot tub looking at the stars.
I don't know if it has changed much, but back then if you had to wait in the lift line for more than 10 minutes they served you a cup of hot chocolate or coffee.
Again, this is 20 year old info, but I skied at all the resorts in Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Tahoe, Washington, Whistler/Blackcomb & New Mexico.
Taos was by far my favorite. 50% of the runs were double diamond OR HARDER.
I'd like to think it's just the same as it was 20 years ago.
But I'm not and I'd probably die a cold, gruesome and painful death if I tried a double or triple diamond run now...
