hi folks,

back in the Element fold. TRP color EX 4WD with Navi.....finding a navi equipped Element is like locating a winter coat in August...they did a 7 state search and there was one...fortunately, it was the color we wanted...

we had an '04 Blue EX 4WD that we had for 4 years....when the lease was up, we bought a Porsche Cayenne S...wow, what an incredibly fun ride that is. Problem is, the warranty is up so it has to go....that SUV was designed by Rube Goldberg...so over engineered with technology, it's been in the shop as much as in our garage with numeous electronic/module problems.

it was time to get back to a funky, usable, RELIABLE ride, and that can only mean an Element..the navigation with backup camera and iPod control built in is very sweet.

the only downside...we can't get the 5 speed as we had before...an AT is not driving a car....you're just along for the ride! Oh well, I remember in 2004, MT accounted for only 5% of Element sales, and I'm sure that percentage went down over the years..

great info. on this site, and I'm glad to be back..there are a bunch of rabid, loyal owners out there...great to see.

Welcome back- and great choice of color.

You learned what most Porsche-Mercedes-Jaguar-Audi-BMW-Cadillac owners do- 1. they are great vehicles as long as they are in the original factory warranty period 2. You get to know your dealer service department all too well. 3. you get to drive a lot of loaner vehicles! (hope they weren't all Chevy Classics or Ford Focus(s) )

It's so true! but I swear, it's like a 4 door 911 4s. 5500 pounds and still enough acceleration to put you into the back seat...handles like it's on rails...very little body lean in curves....going to miss that...drop dead beautiful lines.

what I won't miss is the gas mileage.....in town driving by my wife(read, little old lady driving to church)....12mpg...of 93 octane!

Actually, I usually got a VW Jetta as a loaner
I can understand when it comes to the Porsche. I just turned in my 07 VW Touareg which I leased for the warranty period. Routine maitenance still drained my wallet. While it was built like a tank, had amazing AWD and a ton of technology, I came to realize that all the fancy extras just leads to more issues down the road. Have put almost 1k miles on my E and haven't looked back.

Thanks! Yes I have a 2004 Z06. A dream since I was 15 and had a poster of the 1963 original Z06 on my wall. finally made it come true...a fantastic track car.. I am fortunate that it's not my daily driver. Only when the sun is out and the streets are dry:grin:

HA! My plate used to read RDY 2 RUN...but I got tired of these punk kids coming up beside me and revving the engines on their ricers, calling me out...I am NOT a red light racing junky.

so now it reads, THX ZORA, in honor of Zora Arcus Duntoff, the first chief engineer and the man responsible for the first Z06 in 1963...probably more info. about a non-Element vehicle on this site than anyone wanted to hear..

sorry...

I feel the MT void. When I upgraded from our 04 to the 09 I could not find a MT. Besides that we are very happy with the 09!
